But we pulled one off this year. When it was all said and done, I enjoyed the creativity of it, but even more than that, I liked the simpleness. I had three criteria this year:
1. It must involve no baking at all.
2. I must be able to order all the components online and not have to go to any stores.
3. It must not break the bank. Life is expensive enough.
I checked off all my boxes. I love that.
Our theme:
A Midnight Snack. At some point in the megillah, it talks about how King Achashverosh could not sleep in the middle of night and then lots of other stuff happened, but for our purposes, the story ends there - with a snack, because if you can't sleep, a snack is the next logical step towards taking a Tums and going back to bed.
We packaged up (and ordered online - check and check!) single-serve Chips Ahoy cookies and Yoo-hoo juice boxes in bags that we already had (check!) and tied them closed with ribbon we already had (check!).
The end.
:)
