I told my kids I'd bake them a chocolate cream pie for the last day of school.
But. But, I DIDN'T WANNA BAKE A PIE.
😩
It's so hot outside this week.
And I didn't want to buy all the ingredients - I already went to the supermarket this week.
And school ends tomorrow, and I have a work deadline - and I don't even know if the last day of school is a full day or a half.
Breathe.
I'm breathing now, and I have a no-bake pie idea. Those are the best.
The game plan: use what I had in the house.
I CAN DO HARD THINGS.
I started my mixing pudding and 1/2 a container of frozen whipped cream.
Spread the rest of the whipped cream on top.
I took it out of the freezer before I left for my last carpool run of the year (lalalalalalala), and it was perfect by the time dinner rolled around.
Three kids loved it, and one, who just doesn't like pie all that much, gave it a thumbs down - but it should be noted, he finished his whole piece because he turned his thumbs down, so I don't know how trustworthy that really is.
But don't worry, each kid also got a Trader Joe Smores kit as a last-day-of-school gift, so it's all good.
:)
