Hi, I'm Jen. It's nice to see you again. You might have forgotten who I am because it's been months (months!), but it's all good because what's a few months between friends.
I could launch into a whole, oh, we've been so busy and blah blah blah, but I won't. We were MIA and now we're back.
And all of a sudden, it's February. Everyone we know up north is freezing, with their houses and cars and front steps covered in snow. I want to say comforting things like 'I know, I know, I understand', but I'm not sure I do anymore. I think it really might be possible to take the Northerner out of the girl. Not the attitude-y New Yorker, but the Northerner.
I'm not sure I can deal with the snow anymore. And the slush and the rock salt and heavy shovels and wet boots. Uch. I'm freezing just thinking about it, which is why you will probably hate me very much when I tell you that we went to the beach on Sunday. And you'll probably hate me just a little bit more when I tell you it was quite chilly and we had to wear sweatshirts. And that my kids pretended they were sledding down the beautiful piles of sand because that's what passes for tobogganing here. (Anyone still with me?)
It was really fun. Wish you were here! Maybe we'll send you a postcard. The mailman should be able to deliver it, what with that whole 'sleet and rain and snow' creed of theirs...
Are you a Mom?
Of course you are,
your shirt is dirty :)
