We're on vacation, it's okay to be a little late to things, right?
And besides, what's a month among friends?
We inherited many of the items that make up the functioning kitchen that we are now using. For example, we somehow wound up with two dairy sets of silverware and two meat sets, which worked out well because neither set was complete.
However, it was all getting very confusing what with four different flatware patterns, so Josh had a great idea. Instead of constantly opening the drawers and trying to match up the fork patterns, why don't we place a dot of nail polish on the back of each fork, knife and spoon and that way we'd know at a glance if it was part of the dairy set or the meat set. Brilliant. And let's hear it for run-on sentences!
So nail polish. I don't generally wear nail polish and so I did not have one. Lucky for us, my cousin, who happened to have been coming up for the weekend wears a lot of nail polish - and was happy to share a bottle of red (for the meat drawer) and a bottle of blue (for the dairy drawer).
And since we were already using the polish to dot the silverware, why not just do our own nails while we're at it.
My boys really wanted to paint their toenails blue, but Josh would have none of it.
So just the girls. And one little girl was so happy with her nails that she refused to move them away from her face and show them for a picture. If you notice, the little girl that did share her hands in the picture only has nine nails painted. The way I see it, we're all better off if the thumb that is sucked gets left alone. It's bad enough we all inhaled the nail polish fumes, eating it is a whole other issue.
Are you a Mom?
Of course you are,
your shirt is dirty :)
